ABOUT CRIMSON EMPIRE
Our shop’s story began in 2007, when childhood friends Mitchell Stals and Curt Semeniuk decided to take the leap and open our doors. Since then, we’ve been putting in the hard work to become one of the best shops out there.
Our dream was to create a space where you can get great art, without sacrificing great conversation and great service. We want you to be comfortable and be confident in your choice to visit our shop and get tattooed.

Cancellation Policy
48 Hours Notice
Here are the details on our cancelation policy. We totally understand that things happen and we get it! We are happy to work with you and cancel any appoinments you have with us, however here is what we require.
Call us during business hours to advise. We need 48 hours notice or you will forfeit your deposit. We also can not guarntee the timeliness of your next appoinmnmet. This means some of our artists are booked months in advance and you may have a long period of waiting ahead of you.

If you need to reschedule, here is what you need to know.
You must call us to reschedule, during business hours. Your appointment must be more than 48 hours in the future when you call. We cant guarantee the timeliness of your next appointment. We will try our best to accommodate you, however we cant guarantee certain days or times will be available.
Identification Required
Government Issue ID Only
This one is really simple. You need to bring your ID so we know who you are. We wont be able to tattoo you unless you bring it with you, so please bring it.
We only accept valid government issued Identification.
Sorry, that means as great as your Costco card is, it wont get you tattooed.

If you want something larger, we recommend scheduling an appointment. Walk-in days are reserved specially for smaller sized tattoos.
$200 MINIMUM IS FIRM
You get what you pay for. We didn’t cut corners when we set up shop or when we set up for your tattoo: we use single-use needles, disposable materials, wrap your tattoo with proper aftercare materials, and designed a positive environment to getting tattooed in. We’re not here to be cheap – we’re here to be good.
YOU MAY NOT GET TATTOOED TODAY
We promise to do our best to get to everyone. In return, we ask for your understanding. Our shop is run by humans, not robots. They and their families get sick unexpectedly, or sometimes a tattoo may take longer than expected, or sometimes life happens. Please be patient with us as we do our best to accommodate you.
NOT EVERY WEEKEND CAN BE WALK-IN WEEKEND
In a perfect world, we could tattoo every Saturday and Sunday – and we do our best to make that happen. We even drag our neighbouring tattoo shop, Black Gold Tattoo Co., to help out when we need it- and they do not normally take walk-ins. Reality is, we can’t always keep to this schedule, even if you read it online.
STYLE IS EVERYTHING
If we decline your project and refer you to another artist who isn’t doing walk-ins that day, it’s not because we don’t want to tattoo you. We want to make sure you get the best artist for the job – and one who matches your unique style. We believe good work is worth the wait, and we want to get you in with the right artist than anything.
NO SHARING
Not tattoo time. Not set-up time. Not needles. Not disposables. Budgets are cool and all, but we don’t cut corners when it comes to our professionalism. If you don’t have the time or the funds for proper work, please come back and see us when you do.

If you’re planning to leave a shitty review so you can hold it hostage for compensation, save your time. When we reach out to figure out how to fix your poor experience and you tell us you’ll take your review down for money or free tattoo time, it won’t fly. We will call you out on your bullshit.

Minimum age is 18 - No Exceptions
Regardless of parental consent, we do not tattoo under the age of 18 years old. Sorry, its a personal preference and we will gladly tattoo you once you are 18 years of age.

Before any artist can join our family, they go through a thorough screening process. Talent, integrity, and respect for the current sterilization practices set by Alberta Health Services are required, not optional.
We only hire the best artists, so naturally we do the same when it comes to equipment. We strive to stay up to date with the latest technology. Things change quick, and anywhere we can’t keep up, we’ll make up for it with care, consideration, and sick tattoos.
